SOUTHERN CALIFORNIA NORML is a nonprofit, public-interest,
educational organization. We have been working to reform marijuana laws
for almost 40 years. NORML provides a voice for Americans who oppose marijuana prohibition.
We represent the interests of Tens of Millions of Americans
who smoke marijuana responsibly. We believe that medicinal
& recreational use of marijuana should not be a crime!
NORML believes that marijuana smoking is not for kids & should only be used responsibly by adults.
NORML strongly supports the rights of patients who use marijuana as medicine,
when their physician recommends it to relieve a variety of symptoms.
NORML has been an advocate for the legal use of marijuana since 1972.
We serve Southern California as an operating NORML chapter.
Our goal is to reform legislations to allow the decriminalization of
cannabis for medical & personal use by removing the outdated &
unjust penalties currently in place.
Our current goals are: (1) To have Prop 19 pass. It is sensible
legislation that would make California a model for a fiscally sound and
effective marijuana policy. AB 2254 removes state-level criminal
penalties for private adult use, possession & limited cultivation
of marijuana. (2) To make medical marijuana access safe, for
patients thru education. and caregivers.
Southern California NORML believes that drug abuse is a serious problem, that there is a more effective drug policy & we should act on it.
